Healthworks Fellowship Professional Development Programs are designed to assist healthcare organizations with attracting, retaining, and motivating allied health professionals working in interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, and non-invasive cardiology.

Didactic Education

Healthworks Professional Development Program will provide didactic education for nurses and technologists (learners) working in the invasive cardiovascular environment. The learners will receive 40 hours of classroom didactic education to include a live mock code and emergency learning experience. The schedule of education will be coordinated with the Director of the Cardiac and Vascular Labs. Throughout the professional development program: case studies, case reviews, study guides, and testing will be provided with a final examination at the end of the didactic education program. The learner must pass the examinations with a score of 80 or above (results provided to management).

Precepting and Training, Cardiovascular Special Operations Team (CSOT)

Professional development, precepting & training will be provided by Healthworks Cardiovascular Special Operations Team members.

This elite team is comprised of invasive cardiovascular nurses and technologists who demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and practice in the invasive cardiovascular laboratory. CSOT is accomplished in conveying knowledge, skills, and practice to the clinical learner through proven result driven strategies.

Each learner will be assigned a preceptor CSOT member in the lab. All CSOT members will participate in the teaching process. The learner will receive precepting in the scrub, circulate, and monitor role in the cardiac catheterization lab. The learner will receive the clinical evaluation tool at the beginning of the program and receive guidance and feedback from the CSOT member on an ongoing basis. The Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab will receive feedback on the progress of the learner on a weekly basis.
